Online tuner
Press Start, play one note and tune until the needle is centred.
Uses your microphone only after you press Start.
How to use the tuner
Choose your instrument, press Start and allow the microphone. Play one string or note at a time and let it ring. The large letter is the nearest note; the needle shows how far away you are in cents (hundredths of a semitone). Left of centre is flat, so tune up; right is sharp, so tune down. Within 5 cents the display turns green.
In an instrument mode the tuner always compares you with the nearest open string, so a badly out-of-tune string still shows which peg to turn. Tap a string name to hear its target pitch if you prefer to tune by ear. Chromatic mode names any note, for wind instruments, voice or piano checks.

Reference pitch and privacy
Most music uses A4 = 440 Hz. Some orchestras tune to 442 Hz and some early-music groups lower; change the reference to match. The microphone signal is analysed in your browser only: nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded, and the microphone switches off when you press Stop or leave the tab.
